Richard Ott Tessmer

Mr. Richard Ott Tessmer, age 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. Mr. Tessmer was born on September 26, 1932, in Pittsburg, Kansas to Otto Fredrick and Martha Ellen Jacobs Tessmer. He attended grade and high school in Pittsburg. After graduation, he entered the Navy serving until December 1954, where he was Honorably Discharged. Returning to Pittsburg he attend Pittsburg State earning a B.S. in Physics Engineering. Mr. Tessmer worked in Aerospace Industries and retired from Boeing in 1991. He loved boating, hunting, fishing, golf and music. He and his wife attended Highland Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Bella Vista, Arkansas where he became an active member serving in different capacities. Mr. Tessmer was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Rowena Tessmer Snider and Lucille Tessmer Geier. Mr. Tessmer is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Wheeler Tessmer, sons, Terry Tessmer and Clay Tessmer, daughter, Marni Garrett, step daughter, Kim Oxley, and many grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Highland Christian Church, Disciples of Christ or to Circle of Life in Bentonville. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday June 12, 2015 at Highland Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
