Dr. Tamara D. (Allen) Bogan, D.V.M.

Dr. Tamara D. (Allen) Bogan D.V.M., 64, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed June 6, 2015 at the Willard Walker Hospice Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Tamara was born Nov. 24, 1951 in Pasco, Wash., the daughter of Melvin and Pearl (Riska) Allen, both of whom preceded her in death. Tamara was a 1970 Honors Graduate of Bentonville High School; a 1976 Honors Graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture; and a 1990 Graduate of Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Tamara started working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety Inspection Service as a Food Inspector from 1977 to 1986 when she started Veterinary School. After graduation, Tamara returned to the Department of Agriculture as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer. Tamara received numerous performance awards, but was most proud of those awards related to her work in Humane Handling of food and animals. Tamara's interests away from the workplace were her Corgi and her horses. Tamara is survived by her husband, Tim of the home, whom she married in 1980; her brother, James Allen of Holiday Island; her sister, Cindy Allen of Rogers; and her father and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Bogan of Farmington, Ark.
