Mary Frances Carter

Mary Frances Carter, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away in peace, June 7, 2015 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born on March 21, 1924 in Three Sands, Okla., an oil field town that no longer exists. She was the daughter of William Wyatt and Mary Lou Elizabeth (Henry). Mary was a retired homemaker who lovingly cared for her husband and raised two sons. From 1943 through 1944, she worked at the Hudson Motor Car Company on Jefferson Blvd. in Detroit, Mich. as a "Rosie the Riveter" bucking rivets for the B24 and B29 Bombers during WWII. Their motto was, "We Can Do It". She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Jack Carter; and two sisters. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Wyatt Carter and Gregory Lee Carter; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There are no memorial services planned at this time. Mary will be laid to rest in the West Fork Cemetery. She led a very active life and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
