Gilda "Jill" Pieri DeGiso Boitel, left our world on June 1, 2015 at the age of 80. She was born September 26, 1934 in Tuckahoe, New York to Helen Casci Pieri and E. Gildo Pieri, both of Northern Italy. She is survived by a daughter, Debra DeGiso of Fayetteville; a son, John "Butch" DeGiso of Eastchester, N.Y.; as well as a sister, Ann Pieri Belt; her five nieces and one nephew, Paula Vance, Paige Crockett, Pamela Johnston, Patty Kittell, Parker Belt and Penny Belt; also leaving behind thirteen grand-nieces and nephews; and one great-grand nephew. Jill was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Boitel. They lived in retirement in Stuart, Fla. from 1988 to 2004. After Ralph's passing she moved to Fayetteville to be with her sister. In 2005, her daughter Debbie also moved to Fayetteville to provide a home for her mother. Jill's schooling started at Cooper School in Scarsdale, N.Y. to 4th grade. She was then transferred to Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Tuckahoe. She finished her schooling from 9th to 12th grade at Eastchester High School in 1952. She was employed as a secretary by Montross and Brewer in White Plains, N.Y. until the birth of her daughter. She later went to work in Fine Jewelry at Macy's Department Store in White Plains, N.Y. where she met and married her second husband, Ralph. Both retired from Macy's in 1988. Jill was known at Macy's for her exceptional arrangements of retirement parties and was loved by all there. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling and entertaining. After Ralph's passing, she continued her travels with her family to Italy, Ireland, England and Hawaii. Memorials may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E.
