Galen Patrick Morris

Galen Patrick Morris, age 68, of Rogers, passed from the material world to his new spiritual home on May 31, 2015. Arriving in this world on his mother's birthday, June 26, 1946, baby "Pat" was not only a gift to his beautiful French mother, but a promise of peaceful post-war home life for his father, recently returning a hero from the battles in Europe. Firstborn, he set a direct example for his 2 younger brothers, teaching them the values of loyalty, patience, and quiet dignity. An all-American boy, he literally married the girl next door, whom he loved until the end of his days. Never complaining, Pat continued to answer the calls of duty, as a student, soldier, manager, husband - and finally - as a father. Devotedly attending every baseball game and school event, calmly answering endless questions posed to him, and instilling his views of the world and beyond to his one and only son, Pat served as a role model by example, teaching his son and others that it is what you do that defines you. The end was no different. Although the renal cancer attempted to rob him of his dignity, Pat faced this challenge as he had all others. Never one for high drama, Pat slipped away quietly from his earthly room, as his loved ones slept near him. He crossed the finish line on Sunday - the day of rest - and went on to claim his reward. Help us that remain celebrate Pat's life, and his next adventures as we gather from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
