James C. McCulloch, 67, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully on Thursday at Washington Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving sons. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass. to George and Betty McCulloch and has three sisters; Sister Helen McCulloch, RSJC, Rosemary O'Brien, and Anne Covell (deceased) whom he joins on her birthday. He graduated from Saint Louis University in 1968 with a B.S. in Finance and in 1970 with a Master's of Science in Commerce. He was previously married to Patricia Ann McCulloch and is survived by his five sons: William, Patrick, Daniel, Peter & Jamie; and seven grandchildren. "Big Jim" had a highly successful career in finance working for multiple Fortune 500 companies, including Ford, Chemetron, Six Flags, Allen-Bradley, and Sybron. He retired at age 40 to pursue entrepreneurial ventures and personal investments. He moved to Fayetteville in 2005 and was working for Ozark Regional Transit up until his death. He greatly enjoyed working there and was thankful for the camaraderie and loyalty of his friends at ORT. He was an often larger-than-life figure, who brought joy to many people. He was charismatic, loving, and had a quick wit. He is remembered by many for activities like driving around in his convertible in a Santa outfit at Christmas to visit the hospitals, churches and schools to donate toys and food to those less fortunate.   Giving to the end, his final gift was to donate his body to medical education at U of Arkansas Medical School. A Catholic memorial service will be held at a later date in Houston, Texas, where his sons live. In lieu of flowers, please send charitable gifts in memory of James McCulloch to The Brookwood Community Scholarship Fund online at www.brookwoodcommunity.org or by mail to The Brookwood Community, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, Texas 77423.
