Fern Younkin

Fern Younkin, age 91, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born November 13, 1923 in Shields, Texas, the daughter of John and Bessie Lewis Willingham. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Lewis Younkin. She had a degree in education and taught pre-school for a few years and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, she loved to serve at First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Junior Civic League and P.E.O. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Younkin of Fayetteville; a son, Ron Younkin of Fayetteville; a sister, Janette Mathias of Waco, Texas; three grandsons, Reid Newman and his wife Leslie, Brent Newman and his wife Brooke and Aaron Newman and his wife Renee and five great-grandsons. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Moore's Chapel followed by burial at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
