Harriet M. Strickler, 96, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Village in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born on March 28, 1918 in Chesterton, Indiana to Guy B. Fort and Amelia Atkinson Fort. She and her husband Forrest moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas 28 years ago from Springfield, Illinois. She was retired from a 21-year career as an accountant with the State of Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a Past Matron of Eastern Star, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher of young students. She was a member of Highland Christian Church. She was preceded in death by husband of 22 years, Leroy H. Martin; an infant daughter; a sister, Charlotte Dunne; and a daughter, Carol (Jon) Hapke. She was followed in death by her daughter, Holly (Seymour) Bernstein, who passed away one day later on January 27, 2015. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Forrest J. Strickler whom she married on February 25, 1967; one daughter, Laurel (Terry) Krautwurst; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Highland Christian Church 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Christian Church. A Committal Service will be held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
