Hazel Eleanor Arnett Watkins, 97, of Winslow, passed away, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born July 18, 1917 in San Antonio, Texas to John William Arnett and Ethel Eugene Farmer Arnett. She married Amos L. Watkins in Fayetteville on September 18, 1937. They celebrated 63 years of marriage and had three sons. Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Jerry Dwayne Watkins. She was a member of the Blackburn Community Church where her husband, Amos served as pastor for many years. She is survived by her oldest son, Johnny L. Watkins of Winslow; and son, Jimmie R. Watkins and wife, Jena of West Fork; three granddaughters, Shelly Perkins and husband, Brian of Bentonville; Christy Thomas and husband, David of Louisiana; and Jenny Johnson and husband, Dean of Winslow. She also leaves six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Chapel with Irvin Hutchins officiating. There is no scheduled visitation.
