Gerald Glenn Blakely

Gerald Glenn Blakely 89, of Bella vista, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at Circle of Life Hospice – Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. He was born on Sept. 16, 1925, in Plano, Ill., to Glenn Albert Blakely and Florence Brainard Kivitts. He was a Veteran having served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Community Christ Church in Fayetteville, Ark. He loved to play golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Karen Hawkins and sister Shirley Foster. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Maryann Blakely of Bella Vista, Ark.; two daughters, Betsy Holt and husband Robert of Greenfield, Ind., Patricia Cassidy and husband Gerald of Jasper, Ind.; one son, Gary Blakely and wife Karen of Chunchula, Ala.; one sister, Gina Pierson and husband Rob of Rockford, Ill.; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark., with High Priest Frank Mendenhall officiating.
