Gary Dee Gable of Gravette went home, Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, to meet his Lord after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Claremore, Okla., to Olen and Gearldine Wollaston Gable. Gary joined the Army just out of high school, where he began as an infantry man. He worked with nuclear weapons and later became a mess sergeant. After leaving the military, he worked many jobs, including managing a Winchell's Donut shop. He also barbered for several years, sold used cars and managed a cattle ranch. Gary most recently volunteered at the Billy V. Hall Senior Center in Gravette for a number of years, delivering Meals on Wheels. He fondly referred to those he served as his "people," and he treasured the friendships he made at the center and along his route. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Tina Gable; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Christi Gable of Owalla, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanelle and Brad Harris, Decatur; and his beloved grandchildren, Kenlee, Hudson, Hayes and Hatcher Dee; his sister, Barbara McClure of Inola, Okla. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Virgle McClure; and his son, Timothy. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service time at 2 p.m., Bentonville Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow the funeral at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette. Full military honors will be provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Billy V. Hall Senior Center, P.O. Box 1648, Gravette, AR 72736; or to the Gary Gable Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home to be decided by the family at a later date. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home of Bella Vista.
