Alvin Johnson Rogers, 104, of Fayetteville died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, in Fayetteville. He was born Nov. 30, 1910, in Madison County, Ark., to Johnson and Miranda Spurlock Rogers. He moved to California in 1936 and was engaged in citrus growing for 40 years. He was a member of Placentia Orange Growers Association and the Orange County Farm Bureau. He retired in 1981 and moved to Rogers, Ark., and then to Fayetteville in 2004. He was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mitchell Rogers; his parents; four sisters; and five brothers. He is survived by one son, Ronald Glenn Rogers and his wife, Margaret, of Fayetteville; one grandson, Travis Rogers and wife, Laura, of Windsor, Colo.; one granddaughter, Glynis Rardin and husband, Brett, and two great-grandchildren, Lynsey and Andrew Rardin, all of Fayetteville; many nieces and nephews. Visitation celebration will be from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Beard's Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Drakes Creek Cemetery following the visitation celebration, under the direction of Beard's Chapel. Pallbearers will be Travis Rogers, Brett Rardin, Andrew Rardin, Bill Rogers, Dennis Rogers, Lynn Rogers and Paul Rogers. Condolences at www.beardsfuneralchapel.com.
