Serena Mae Hulsey

Serena Mae Hulsey, age 94, of Bentonville, formerly of Springdale, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2015, in Bentonville. She was born March 21, 1920, in Stevens County, Kan., the daughter of John Zentz and Fannie Hudson Craft. She attended Cross Church in Rogers and was a retired sales clerk from the Ben Franklin Store in Springdale where she worked for many years in the fabric department. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, sewing, crocheting and listening to music. She is preceded by her husband, Howard Hulsey in 1984; one son: Roland Duncan; two sisters: Velma Plunk and Elva Grimsley; one brother: Laurence Craft; and two granddaughters: Serena Duncan and Melissa Duncan. Mrs. Hulsey is survived by one son, William Darrel Duncan and his wife, Avis, of Rogers; one daughter: Laura Hulsey of Bentonville; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
