Dorothy J. Davis

Dorothy J. Davis, 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Dec. 30, 2014, in Joplin, Mo. She was born on Oct. 2, 1931, in Pekin, Ill., to Walter and Bessie McClain. She married Dale Leroy Murray on April 8, 1951. He preceded her in death. She then married Lowell Davis on July 2, 2011. She worked in the accounting department at Chicago Rawhide in Elgin, Ill., for 22 years. They then moved to Bella Vista when she retired in 1993. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandsons and also volunteering at Highlands Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dale Murray; a brother, Devon McClain; and sister-in-law, Bettie McClain; and sister, Mildred Mason. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Davis of Bella Vista; two daughters, Vicki (Kevin) Newgard of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Terry Murray of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandsons, Douglas Newgard and Nicholas (Lisa) Newgard, all of Cedar Falls Iowa; and six nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at the Highlands Church, a United Methodist Congregation. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
