Dorothy Emaline Woods, age 96, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Springdale. She was born December 23, 1918 at Drakes Creek, Arkansas, the daughter of Samuel Jefferson and Ella Malissa Johnson Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil E. Woods; her daughter, Alice Faye Ogden and a brother, Roy Julian Lee. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and Fayetteville Business College. She managed Fayetteville High School Cafeteria for 10 years. She and her late husband, Cecil, raised cattle together for many years, they named each of the calves as they were born. She was a member of the Sycamore Home Extension Club for many years and a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Dorothy inherited her artistic ability; she used it, passed it on to her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing and play the piano. She is survived by two sons, Gene Woods and his wife Pat of Edmond, Oklahoma and Roy Woods and his wife Johnnie of Springdale, Arkansas; a daughter, Ellen Swift-Wilson and her husband Jack of The Woodlands, Texas; a special niece, Betty Holcomb and her husband Don of Bentonville, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday at Moore's Chapel followed by burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
