James Walter McCutcheon Jr.

James Walter "J.W." McCutcheon Jr., age 89, of Lowell, died February 22, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born in Valentine, Tex., on June 19, 1925, to the late James McCutcheon Sr. and Doreen (Finley) McCutcheon. A US Navy veteran of World War II, J.W. moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1965. In this area he worked for what would later be known as Cooper Communities, in construction in the early years of Bella Vista's development. Also, he delivered newspapers for many years for the Rogers Morning News and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rogers. Survivors include his children, Bruce McCutcheon and wife Kathy of Gentry, Jack McCutcheon and wife Debbie of Springdale, Bonnie Coonfield and husband Bruce of Bentonville; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dessie Baumgarten; and his beloved wife, Doris (Spencer) McCutcheon. A graveside service will be held at 1:vp.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Bentonville Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Carl McCormack.
