Grace S. Lawson

Grace S. Lawson, age 94, of Springdale, passed away peacefully at home February 24, 2016. She was born January 2, 1921 at Elkins, the daughter of Roe and Annie Stokenbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lawson and brothers, Charles Norman and Bill. She graduated from Elkins High School and went to Arkansas Tech for two years and was in the Navy for two years. After returning, she taught school at Elkins and Fayetteville before retiring. She liked bowling and fishing and loved the Razorbacks. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Duckett of Ozark and Sonja Blevins of Elkins; two sisters-in-law, Mary Stokenbury and Ann Stokenbury and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
