Hugh M Benson

Hugh McCulloch Benson of Springdale, Ark., died on February 16th, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Arkansas. He was born on January 15, 1925, in Redlands California to Clarence and Lucille Mae "Bonnie" Benson. He was a retired high school guidance counselor and teacher for La Canada High School in California. Hugh was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Bob, Barbara, Virginia, Jack and Bill, his beloved wife, Mary Ann; the mother of his children, Barbara; his daughter, Kathy Gunnell; and his son, Steven Benson. Survivors include son, Greg Benson and wife Alis of Kingwood, Texas; son, Paul Benson of Arcata, California; daughter, Janis Richter and husband, Dennis of Bothell, Washington, and daughter, Lisa Ray and husband, David of Springdale, Arkansas. He had 14 beloved grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs with the Reverend Randy Rowland officiating.
