Jean Stennett

Jean Stennett of Bella Vista, Ark., at the age of 86, was called to her forever home on Feb. 12, 2015. She is now happily reunited with her husband, Jack Stennett and her great-granddaughter, Jami Mader. Jean is also preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Clara Pennington. Jean grew up in Oak Grove, La., where she met Jack. They were married for over 42 years and raised three children in Kiowa, Kan. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark. to enjoy their retirement years. They were members of the Bella Vista Church of Christ, where Jean enjoyed serving others by rocking the babies in the nursery, teaching the toddler bible classes and cooking for church functions. Her banana pudding was always a popular request. Jean spent her life in service to others by working in nursing homes, cooking in hospital cafeterias and providing personal home care. Jean's true happiness came from caring for her family. Many happy family memories were made in Granny's house from her cooking in the kitchen, family games at the dining room table, and children running everywhere. The memories from family vacations, especially to Louisiana in the heat of summer, will hold a special place in our hearts. She loved cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and listening to her country music. Surviving members of the family are her sister and brother, Bobby and Annie Mae Maxwell and her children, Sheila and Stan Webb, Susie and Gene Long and Sharon Stennett. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Christina Snyder, Mike and Shannon Mader, Jennifer May, Heather and Charles Cooper, Kevin and Melissa Owens, Kari and Jesse Homan, and Mary and Dylan Thaxton; 16 great-grandchildren: Christian and Samantha, Courtney, Caleb, James, Ryan, Tyler, Zachary, Nathan, Emily, Josh, Fabian, Max, Jeremy, Jenna and Pike and one great-great-granddaughter, Lilyann. Jean was a mom, grandma, G-Ma, granny grandma and Granny who was greatly loved by so many. She was the model of unconditional love who never wanted for herself but only to serve and care for others. Visitation will be held from 2–4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home at 605 W. Central Ave. in Bentonville, Ark. The funeral service will be 10 a.m Monday, Feb. 16 at the Bella Vista Church of Christ. The burial will follow at the Bella Vista Memorial Gardens.
