Roy Dalton Phillips of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Northwest Medical Center.. He was born August 24, 1932 near Kingston, Arkansas to Richard Lambert (Bird) Phillips and Floyd Alice (Allie) Tucker Phillips. He is survived by his wife Lila Jean Rodgers Phillips. They were married November 26, 1955 by the Rev. Vivian Rhodes. Other survivors include two daughters, Judy Evans of Huntsville and Lisa Garner and husband Woody of Lowell, one sister, Sarah Eula Dean Owen of Lowell, three grandchildren, David Phillips, Jason and Richard Evans, four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jesse, Henry and Jack. And a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Chloe Baker, Hester Smith and Pearl Rhodes, one son in law, Bill Evans one great granddaughter, Lexi. He worked for Tyson corporation for 49 years, retiring in 2004. At the time of his retirement he held the title of having the longest years of service in the Tyson corporation. His favorite past time was camping, auctions, restoring old cars, working in his shop and making a big garden that he freely shared with friends and family. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale with Rev. Clark Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, Arkansas. Viewing will be available on Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the funeral home and visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. at the church, prior to the service. Family will be present. Pallbearers are David Phillips, Jason Evans, Richard Evans, Jackie Bowen, Jimmy Smith and Lee Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Woody Garner, Leon Beal, Jim Burton, Bill Jackson, Ralph Rodgers, Greg Erickson and Chris Erickson. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
