Joy Eileen McElyea Sellers

Joy Eileen McElyea Sellers, 86, a resident of Prairie Grove, Ark. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 31, 2015. She was born Feb. 3, 1928 in Rose Hill Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. She is the daughter of Grant and Edith Atha McElyea. Joy loved to tell the story of Jesus Christ and his love. She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for many years and was a member of New Sulphur Free Baptist Church. Joy worked side by side with her husband of 64 years in their business Seller's Training Stables of Farmington. Her love and joys were family, traveling, reading, keeping up with current events, and her country. She was preceded in death by her parents Grant and Edit Atha McElyea; her brother, Doyle McElyea; her sisters, Irene Wallen, Pansy Trolinger, Reba Milburn, Wounetta Couch, and Ruby Dikeman. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Marion "Sonny" Sellers; one son, Mark James Sellers and his wife Marcia Sellers of Okarche, Okla.; one daughter, Marianna Jo Traylor and her husband Mike Traylor; five grandchildren, DeAnna Berner and husband Matt of Prairie Grove, Ark., Charles Sellers and his wife Melissa of Okarche, Okla., Scott Traylor and his wife Leslie of Prairie Grove, Ark., Kim Traylor of Overland Park, Kan, Matthew Sellers and his wife Sarah of Okarche, Okla.; nine great-grandchildren, Taylor Ochs, Paige Sellers, Caleb Berner, Hope Sellers, Elizabeth Berner, Emily Traylor, Katie Traylor, Scout Sellers, Merrick Sellers. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, 10 a.m. at New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church in Prairie Grove, Ark. Final Resting Place will be at Farmington Cemetery.
