Vernon James Tucker-Cook, 80, of Hindsville, Arkansas, died December 21, 2015 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born June 30, 1935 at Wharton, Arkansas, the son of Joseph Shorty Cook and Mary Jewell Tucker. He had retired from George's, Inc. and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two brothers, Glenn Stansell and Bryce Stansell and one great-grandson, Holden Whitcomb. Survivors include: his wife, Billie Thompson Tucker-Cook of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lisa Tucker of Hindsville, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Merle Lunning of Rogers, Arkansas and Kim and Larry James of Hindsville, Arkansas; four brothers, Charles "Pete" Stansell of Trinity, Texas, Raymond Stansell of Rogers, Arkansas, Jimmy "Sonny" Cook of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Bobby Cook of Lowell, Arkansas; three sisters, Judy Bolin of Springdale, Arkansas, Susie Mayes of Goshen, Arkansas and Myrle Jordan of Farmington, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Services 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Paul Dennis officiating. Interment will be in the Joyce Cemetery at Spring Valley, Arkansas, under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Thompson, David Whiteley, Mike Standifer, Joey Cook, Dennis Whiteley and Josh Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 East Longview Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703.
