Glen Edward Eaton

Glen Edward Eaton, 92, of Elkins, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, in his home in Elkins. Glen was born in Red Star, Ark., on February 22, 1923, the son of Ransom Eaton and Mary Samuels Eaton. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; brothers, Ira, Cecil and Arlis; sisters, Milbra Parker, Velma Laird and Viola McClure. Glen moved to Kansas City during World War II to work for Boeing Aircraft, where he met Helen Louise O'Dell. They married on November 30, 1945 in Overland Park, Kan. Glen and Helen enjoyed 64 years of marriage during which time they moved back to the Elkins area and raised four boys. Glen served as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Elkins, He was a school board member for the Elkins Public School, and was a member of Harris Baptist Church. Glen farmed and worked in timber his entire life. He is survived by one brother, Lynville Eaton (Jan) of Elkins; sons, Ron Eaton (Lendy) of St. Paul, Rick Eaton (Debi) of Benton, Rex Eaton (Jana) of Elkins, and Steve Eaton (Traci) of Kibler; and grandchildren, Brian Eaton, Brittany Scism, Lyndzi Brannan, Levi Eaton and Taryn Keim; and three great-grandsons. Visitation will be 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Harris Baptist Church in Elkins. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday at Harris Baptist Church with burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
