Burdell Olso Cobb

Burdell Olzo Cobb, 96 year old resident of Springdale, Arkansas, died at his home on December 2, 2015. Born October 22, 1919, he was the son of Fred Cobb and Bessie May Armbruster Cobb. Burdell married Melva Alyne Bostain on October 12, 1943 in Vallejo, California. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Burdell was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked in Naval Aviation for 22 years before retiring as a Chief. He was a longtime resident of Siloam Springs and Gentry area. Burdell was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Gentry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melva; and one son, Rodney Cobb. He is survived by two sons, Steven Dale Cobb and wife Martha of Henryetta, Oklahoma, and Donald Lee Cobb and wife Reba of Springdale; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Lorene Carter of Trona, California, and Laverne Archer of Cabot, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Lois Cobb; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Bro. Chet Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
