Grady Loyce Lamb

Grady Loyce Lamb, age 89, of Siloam Springs, died Aug. 20, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark., after an extended illness. Grady, son of William Lamb and Hester Morgan Lamb, was born on Oct. 29, 1925 near Charleston, Ark. He was married to Kathleen Andrews Lamb on Jan. 12, 1945. His parents and his wife, Kathleen, preceded him in death. Grady was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II who served in the South Pacific. He graduated from Siloam Springs High School. In 1941, Grady began working at Millsap's IGA Grocery as a butcher and met Kathleen, a bookkeeper. They worked together, eventually acquiring full ownership of IGA Foodliner. They served four generations of customers before selling the business to Harps Food Stores in 2009. Grady was an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs, a 50 year member of Masonic Key Lodge #7, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, a 35 year member of American Legion Post 29 and a life member of VFW Post 1674. He is survived by his sons and their families: Dr. Alan Lamb and his wife Sherri of Siloam Springs, and their daughter, Alison S. Lamb of Tulsa, Okla.; Brian Lamb and his wife Debbie of Siloam Springs, and their sons, Captain Andrew J. Lamb, USAF of Charleston, S.C. and Ashton C. Lamb of Fort Collins, Colo. A celebration of life service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs with Dr. Jim Walters and Pastor Brad Edwards presiding. A private family burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Siloam Springs.
