Shirley Diana Elmore-Posey born in Houston, Texas 16 July 1952, passed at April 19, 2015 in Rogers, Arkansas. Shirley was blessed with an inquiring mind and a willingness to learn new things. She was blessed with a lovely singing voice, and exercised her well developed green thumbs gardening for many years, native plants, shrubs, perennials and herbs. She performed as a singer for several years in Fort Smith, Ark. & surrounding Tri-state area during her adult decades. She worked in display advertising and copywriting, in small business management and enjoyed a five year career at the Sebastian County Circuit Clerks Office before relocating to Benton County in 2007, making her new home with her husband, Tom Posey. Doing home projects made her happy, renovations, building projects, landscaping and enjoying her animals. She loved the seclusion & serenity of sitting on the front deck listening to nature. Shirley, a lifelong seeker to accurately know the God concept, sought the truth all her life and the past several years with leaps and bounds of insight and understanding, considers herself spiritually initiated into the ancient & original Gnostic Perennial Wisdom and knows her inner Higher Self, commonly referred to as the Christ energy/consciousness, to be her personal Liberating and guiding light. Thank you Nag Hammadi and so many other seriously seeking the authentic truth, which confirmed what she already knew within. She never was at home here on earth and will/has returned to the true Home. As Jack Nicholson said "I tried to be normal once. It was the worst 2 minutes of my life." Peace in Christ. She is preceded in death by her Father, retired Sgt Major Stanley Eugene Elmore. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Posey. her mother, Ruth H. Wachholz- Elmore, one sister, Barbara S. Speer, two brothers, Stanley E. Elmore Jr. and Freddie L. Elmore. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday; April 25, 2015 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers with Chaplain John Pate officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice or the Charity of the Donor's choice. Online condolences to www.bentoncountyfuneralhome.com.
