Patricia Louise Wright, age 84, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Fayetteville. She was born July 9, 1930 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Helen Davis Cicero. Listed below is one Patricia's stories she had written. Family Fables: The Shudder Doors, By Patricia Louise Wright. Preparing and serving food has always been a great part of life in our family and maybe that's why we're so good at it. Because we really enjoy cooking. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because we started so young! Early one morning, very early. I wakened to the smell of smoke. With nightgown flying, I ran down the hallway to the kitchen. There I found my two young cooks preparing breakfast! Chief Chef Sandra, age 3, stood on a chair at the stove stirring a pan of dry oatmeal, and her helper, Priscilla, age 2, was setting the table on the kitchen floor. She couldn't reach the dish cupboard, so she had pulled out odds and ends from the lower level to do the job. Shaking with fear, I took care of the girls and cleaned up the mess. I shuddered at the thought of what could have happened. And that was the day; we changed the design of our kitchen. That afternoon, my husband put up tall, shuttered doors, with a lock high enough that even our ingenious daughters couldn't open. That should have been the end of their cooking adventures and maybe cooking is not quite the correct word here. But it did not interfere with their need to feed others, for a few days later; I found them eating breakfast with their 1 year old sister in her crib. Not having access to the kitchen, they had provided juicy red apples and a six-pack of Hershey candy bars. You just can't keep a cook from feeding those they love. One way or another!! A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Moore's Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1818, Memphis, Tennessee 38101.
