Charles White Russum

Charles White Russum, December 8, 1923 - December 14, 2014, Oklahoma City. Charles W. Russum was born in Evanston, Ill., the family moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas where Charles grew up. In January 1943, Charles was "Ordered To Report for Induction" into the United States Military Service. On February 28, 1944, after completing training to serve as a Surgical Technician, Charles was assigned to the World War II European Theater of Operations where he served until March 16, 1946. Upon returning to Fayetteville and completing his college education, Charles began his career with the Internal Revenue Service in the Oklahoma City District from which he retired in 1982. After retirement, Charles enjoyed listening to classical music, spending time with friends and most certainly reading. Charles was an avid reader - his interests were many and varied. He was predeceased by his parents Victor Ernest Russum and Ophelia Howe White Russum, and brother Leonard White Russum. He is survived by his sister-in-law Bernadette Russum, nieces Rebecca Russum, Victoria Russum, and Sarah Russum Zarrabi, great nephew Evan Charles Zarrabi and great niece Rachel Zarrabi. A graveside service will be held on April 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
