Robert Lucas Davis Jr.

Robert Lucus Davis Jr., 80, passed away peacefully in his home in Rogers, Ark., April 8, 2015, formerly of Wilmington, N.C,. after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Ancon Canal Zone, Panama to Robert Lucus Davis, Sr., and Josephine Aleana Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael; and beloved son, Kevin. After graduation from high school in 1954, Bob joined the U.S. Marine Corp serving two years and earning the National Defense Service Medal. He attended college in San Mateo, Calif. before moving in 1964 to New York to open restaurant at the world's fair and later worked for Eastern Airlines. In 1969 he moved to Wilmington, N.C. where he managed several restaurants. Mid ‘70s found Bob as Director of Wilmington Arts Council. Bob Davis had a wonderful life and regaled family and friends with stories of his many adventures, these stories would be told for many years to come. He loved us all unconditionally and he was so loved. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sharon; son, Scott Davis, and wife, Sabra; grandchildren, Jonni and Kyle, Kevin's fiancée Judi Salim of Wilmington; extended family, Sharon's son, Brad Eason and wife, Cindy; grandson, Kyle, Sharon s daughter, Nicole Hayes and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, RJ and Danielle; friends very important in Bob's life, Jim Hayes, Debbie and Keith Hall of Rogers, Memorials may be made in memory of Robert Davis Jr. to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd, Springdale, Ark. 72764. The family would like to thank Debbie Ravelletta, social worker, Leslie Vann, RN, Deanna Anderson, CNA, John Pate, Chaplain, Lisa Gaertner, RN and Bob Matlock all of Hospice for the support, care and love given to Bob and his entire family. Another Peace Is Missing. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
