Jackson Carter, 17, of Rogers, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, March 24 at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas after a long and valiant battle with cancer. His passing was without fear or pain and he was surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Tate and Melanie and brother, Nicholas of Rogers, Ark.; maternal grandparents, Buford and Patricia McIntosh of Richmond, Ky.; paternal grandmother, Sallie Carter of Danville, Ky.; as well as many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jimmy Carter of Danville, Ky. Jackson touched the lives of many with his humility, generosity and vigour. An active athlete, inquisitive student and thoughtful inventor, Jackson embraced challenge and chose the path less traveled. His curiosity, optimism and enthusiasm for life were contagious. On Friday, April 10, a private memorial service will be held at Central United Methodist Church on 2535 W. New Hope Road in Rogers, Ark. followed by a community celebration of life and bonfire at 6 p.m. The dress is casual and all are welcome. Donations can be made to the Jackson Carter Memorial Fund at Arvest Bank. This fund is intended to develop a scholarship to encourage and support those who live like Jackson.
