Gracie Lee Powell, 88, of Bentonville died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at her home. She was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Elaine, Ark., to William Henry Stephens and Mollie Alice Jackson Stephens. She was a cotton and soybean farmer in Cotton Plant, Ark., and raised cattle and chickens in Missouri. She was a member of Bella Vista Wesleyan Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Powell; two brothers, Robert and Thomas Stephens; six sisters, Lois, Virginia and Bobie Faye Stephens, Jewell Johnson, Edna Osborne, Margaret Griffin; a grandson, Lee Knapp; and a step-grandson, Michael Keck. She is survived by two sons, Jim Powell and wife, Lisa, of Jupiter, Fla., Michael Powell of Hobe Sound, Fla.; three daughters, Shelby Knapp and husband, Larry, of Rogers, Dorothy Putt of Bentonville, Mary Ann Harris and husband, Bob, of Bentonville; two sisters, Viola Hurt of Austin, Ark., and Carol Dusman of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Service is set for 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge. Arrangements are with Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
