Hurley Edward Reeves

Hurley Edward Reeves, 80, of Avoca passed away Sept. 27, 2014, in his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Clarksville the son of William Henderson and Martha Patton Reeves. He formerly worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and retired from Deming-Crane Company, Hurley also was a Staff Sergeant in the Gun Core division of the United States Army. He was Past Master of the Brightwater Masonic Lodge No. 119, a 32nd-degree Mason and was a Shrines Clown. Hurley is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Denver and W.H. Reeves and a sister Agnes Rusher. He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Wright Reeves of the home; son Buck Reeves and wife Diana of Avoca; grandchildren, Chris Wright of Avoca and Alyssa Carnahan of Rogers; his sisters, Mable Rounds of Pea Ridge, Mary Lou Requa of Rogers; his brothers, Wayne Reeves of Garfield, Bobby Reeves of Springdale and Darrell Reeves of Washburn and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services with full military honors will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at the Little Flock Cemetery with Pastor Joe Capps officiating.
