Lee Day

Lee Warren Day, 70, of Springdale died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014, at his home. He was born May 24, 1944 in Bentonville, the son of Alma June Tallant and Loyd Day. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a faithful husband who loved life and spending quality time with his family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed RV camping, negotiating a good deal, working on projects including hot rods, landscaping, and metal working to name a few. He loved work and maintained a superb work ethic his entire life. He was a lifetime resident of Northwest Arkansas who knew no strangers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Chad Harshman. Lee is survived by his wife Jackie Day of Springdale whom he married June 30, 1983; four sons, Loyd Day and his wife Lisa of Bella Vista, Randy Harshman and his wife Rhonda, of Chanute, Kan., Dennis Day and his wife Rhonda of Vaughn, Eric Harshman and his wife Stacy of Altoona, Kan.; one daughter, Michelle Miller and her husband Glen of Oregon; one sister, Betty Bollinger and her husband Tommy Johnson of Wewoka, Okla.; numerous grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Rogers. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Bentonville Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be provided by the NWA Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Roger Garner, Ray Bowen, Roy Coffer, Gary Belote, Raymond Reynolds and Tom Buchanan Jr. Honorary Pallbearers: Danny Castor and Ronnie Wheat.
