Bobby Jack "Bob" Thompson, 86, a longtime resident of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born May 28, 1928, in Burkburnett, Texas, to John W. and Reba Bassett Thompson. Bob and Frances Peggy Jones Thompson of Duncan, Okla., were married on July 24, 1953, in Henrietta, Texas. Bob worked for the State of Texas in the Comptroller's office and later worked for E-Z Mart Stores from which he retired in 1988. Bob was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Burkburnett, and enjoyed ceramics, camping, traveling, and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Thompson; his parents; and one brother, Delmar. Bob is survived by three sons, Carl Baker and wife, Jeanie of Olney, Texas; Bruce Thompson and wife, Sarah of Richardson, Texas; and Keith Thompson and wife, Sandy of West Fork, Ark.; a daughter, Beverly Baker of Plano, Texas; and a sister, Moguyneta (Marge) Breaud of Lubbock, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements by Beard's Chapel.
