Judith Vera "Judy" Ford, 59, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born Dec. 13, 1954, in Bethesda, Md., to William Burlin Watkins and Vera Loreen Underwood Watkins. At age 5, Judy's parents returned to their home state of Arkansas. She attended school in Little Rock, graduating from McClellan High School in 1972. Continuing her education, Judy received a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, a masters degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., and in 1990, she graduated "cum laude" from the University of Detroit, School of Law with the degree of juris doctor. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of Nebraska and the State Bar of Arkansas. She is a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Judy retired from the position of senior vice-president human resources at AGProcessing in Omaha, Neb., in 2011, after 18 years of service. Prior to that, she had worked in human resources for Vickers Incorporated in Searcy, Ark., as well as at the Joplin, Mo., and Tulsa, Okla., facilities. She was human resource manager for Comcast Cablevision in Flint and Pontiac, Mich. After law school and prior to moving to Nebraska, she was a practicing attorney. Judy had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling. She visited every state in the U.S. and took numerous trips to Canada and Mexico, as well as Central America, the islands of the Caribbean and to many countries in Europe. She was preceded in death by her parents. Judy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Howard (Jim) Ford; two sons, Jason Ford and wife, Tina of Bradenton, Fla., Brant Ford of Springdale, Ark.; and one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Ford. Judy loved puppies and dogs and is also survived by her "girls," Sophia and Chloe, her two precious and totally spoiled Maltese. Memorials may be made in honor of Judy Ford to Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, AR 72714. No services are scheduled at this time.
