Gerald Leon Leavell

Gerald Leon Leavell, 88, of Clarksville, died September 21, 2014. He was born June 3, 1926, in Lamar, Arkansas, to the late Calvin Gilbert and Vera (Delph) Leavell. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He loved to garden and work in his shop; he also enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Syble, in their travel trailer. He was a good and kind man who was always ready to help anyone in need. Mr. Leavell is preceded in death by his wife, Syble Lucille (Burgess) Leavell; infant son, Robert Leavell; brothers, Truman and Finis; two sisters, Pearl Knight and Juanita Mcdormott. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Kendrick of Springdale, Ark., Debbie Wyers and her husband, Jimmy of Ozark, Ark., Peggy Williams and her husband Robert of Clarksville, Ark.; two brothers, Riley Leavell, and Donnell Leavell; three sisters, Jeanette Watson, Bobbie Jean Black and Norma Lee Wood; grandchildren, Lori Hannon and her husband Marty, Paula Ober and her husband Dwain, Amber Faughn, Amy Willems and her husband Toby, Jaime Ellison and her husband Brad, Brian Williams and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Mr. Leavell's funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Annie's Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Dade Kindrix officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Morgan, Tray Hargraves, Wes Kendrick, Dillon Burgess, Guy Watson and Calvin Warren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Sarah Woodruff and Jane Burgess.
