Don L. Anderson, age 85, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, in Fayetteville. He was born June 17, 1929, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Oscar and Laura Vrooman Anderson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Anderson. He was a retired farmer, truck driver, and proud United States Army veteran who served his country in the Korean War. He spent much of his youth on his grandpa's farm and raised his children in rural Wisconsin. As a truck driver, he drove in almost every state, never had an accident, and could remember roads he traveled and the friends he met along the way. Don loved almost all sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball. He was a race car driver and continued racing with his sons for several years. He had an amazing mind and was an avid reader who retained facts about everything he read. He especially enjoyed doing his morning crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife Barbara; two daughters, Gail Hudak and her husband John of Tulsa, Okla., and Wendy Alexander and her husband Ron of Siloam Springs; two sons, Bruce Anderson and his wife Sandy of Siloam Springs and Don Anderson and his wife Donna of Gravette; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was greatly loved by his entire family and will be missed by all.
