Serena Jean Duncan

Serena Jean Duncan, age 37, of Rogers, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2014, in Rogers. She was born June 25, 1977, in Rogers, Ark., the daughter of Roland David and Cathey Samples Duncan. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Cross Church in Rogers. She had worked as a veterinarian assistant for Dr. Mark Davis and had also worked at Walmart. Serena enjoyed singing, playing music, especially the saxophone, card games with her grandmother, playing with her children and riding bikes. She graduated from Springdale High School. She was preceded by her father, Roland Duncan in June 2014. She is survived by one daughter, Kennedy Duncan, and one son, Cruz Duncan, both of the home; her mother Cathey Russell and her husband, Jack, of Rogers; one brother, Ron Swift and his wife, Lori, of Pea Ridge; one stepbrother, Greg Russell of Lawrence, Kan.; her paternal grandmother, Serena Hulsey of Bentonville; her aunts, Laura Hulsey of Bellevue, Neb., and Pam Raines and her husband, Rick, of Garfield; her uncles, Roy Samples and his wife, Pam, of Springdale, and Darrel Duncan and his wife, Avis, of Rogers; other aunts and uncles include, Velta and Barry, Dianna and Ivan, Joyce and Johnny, Cheryl and Boyd, Steve and Tim. Graveside services will be Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
