Emily J. Ritter

Emily J. Ritter, 72, of Rogers died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at her residence. She was born Sept. 22, 1941, in Temple, Texas, the daughter of Virginia Baker and Emory Jones. As a child she was moved around Texas quite often because of her father's railroad job. She later moved into New Mexico where she did complete her high school days in Clovis and graduated with the Class of 1959. Later she moved to Albuquerque, where she worked many jobs in customer service. She moved to Denver, Colo., where she married Chuck and started working with him in the golf business. They worked at golf courses in Aurora and La Junta, Colo., also later in Oklahoma City, and finally many years as a voluntary merchandiser and display artist at the Kingsdale Golf Complex in Bella Vista. She fought different health issues throughout her life. She was preceded in death by a son, her parents and God parents. Emily is survived by her husband, Chuck Ritter of the home, whom she married May 24, 1976; one sister, Candace J. Chapin of Albuquerque, N.M.; her sister-in-law, Judy and her husband, Carl Fulbright, of Pueblo, Colo.; two nephews, one niece, and their spouses and children. The celebration of her life will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista.
