Janet Berniece Carter-Gedney

Janet Berniece Carter-Gedney, age 87, of Springdale died on Aug. 31, 2014, in Springdale. She was born March 30, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Millard Paul and Nellie Diedrich Hissong. She was a member of St. Raphael Church in Springdale and had worked as a paper carrier for many years for the local newspaper. She loved her dogs and enjoyed hunting. She held the Michigan State Skeet Championship Title for five consecutive years (1948-1953). She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Ryan and her husband, Floyd, of Springdale; and a great-grandson, Greg Sullivan, who was also her best friend.
