Vernon Fraley

Vernon Fraley, age 64, of Russellville, Ark., passed away Sept. 4, 2014, in Russellville. The son of Virgil and Velma Schader Fraley, he was born Jan. 12, 1950, in Wichita, Kan. He moved to Northwest Arkansas at the age of 9 and attended Greenland Schools. His passion for life and friendship was only superseded for that of his family. His unique sense of humor and ability to add levity to most any situation, perhaps as much as his honesty and integrity, drove his successful 46-year career in the truck parts and equipment sales industry. He also served as president of the Arkansas B.A.S.S. Federation and as Farmington School Board president (1986). He was a member of the Farmington Lions Club and The Phillips Charity's Celebrity Classics. He also coached multiple youth sports leagues in Farmington. Hobbies and interests included fishing, woodworking, bowling, golfing, auto racing and Arkansas Razorbacks sports. He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil; his son, Derrick Joseph; and brothers, Tommy and Billy Lee. He also is survived by his mother, Velma Fraley, 95, of Greenland; and his life partner, Sharon Campbell; his children, Shannon and her husband, Marty Clevenger, of New Hampton, Mo., Dell Fraley of Springdale, Ark., Lisa Lee and her husband, Lance, of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Jerrod Fraley and his wife, Choyia, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; stepchildren, Jody Wolfe of Russellville, Ark., and Alissa Reaves of Cabot, Ark.; grandchildren, Ryan Marshall, Josh Marshall, Lynzie Lee, Landie Lee, Neva Fraley and Schader Fraley; step-grandchildren, Bayleigh, Presleigh, Whitleigh and Karson Reaves; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Hunter, Dixie, Noah and Rylee Marshall. Surviving siblings are Earvel Fraley of Greenland, Ark., Floy Jenne of Greensboro, N.C., Chris Fraley of Houston, Texas, AJ Fraley of Greenland, Ark., and Carolyn Jean Whiteside of Greenland, Ark. Pallbearers: Ryan Marshall, Josh Marshall, Leon Duvall, Eldon Keathley, Jody Wolfe and Randy Neal. Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Childress, Gregg Kassaw, Marty Clevenger and Lance Lee. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel, followed by burial at Hazel Valley Cemetery.
