Leslie Elwyn Kleeb

Leslie Elwyn Kleeb, 96, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice Legacy in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Aug. 14, 1918, in Broken Bow, Neb., to John Ulrich Kleeb and Lillian Grace Leck Kleeb. He married Jackie Shadden in 1942 and they moved to Denver, Colo. He served in the Army Air Corps where he trained in Pecos, Texas. He became a flight instructor and achieved the rank of captain. He flew B24's and B29's and was stationed at many bases in California. He flew weather reconnaissance after the war from the North Pole to San Diego. Upon discharge, they moved back to Broken Bow where he was employed with Nursing Home Builders Inc., and then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., and worked for the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society as director of construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jackie in 2002; brother, Alvin Kleeb; and sister, Elinor Kleeb. He is survived by son, David Kleeb of Bella Vista, Ark.; two daughters, Diane Milligan of Farmington, Ark., and Julie Kleeb of Bella Vista, Ark.; brother, Norman Kleeb of O'Neill, Neb.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at the Highland Church a United Methodist Congregation in Bella Vista, Ark.
