Martha Jean Schuler

Martha Jean Schuler, 82, of Bella Vista, Ark., died on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 22, 1932, in Madison, Kan., to Benjamin Bigstaff Whittington and Emma (Schurter) Whittington. She had lived in Bella Vista, Ark., for 21 years, coming from El Dorado, Kan. She belonged to Bella Vista TOPs, Bella Vista Community Church Bible Study Group. She was a Christian clown for many years, and loved crafts, gardening, knitting, crocheting and computing. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dick Whittington and Kenton Whittington; and one sister, Darlene Whittington. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Arlyn of Bella Vista, Ark.; a daughter, Gail Chamberlain of Emporia, Kan.; a son, Clayton Schuler and his wife, DeAnn, of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter Amy Jean Lill and husband, Curtis, of El Dorado, Kan.; one brother, John Whittington of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren, Zachary Chamberlain, Lucas Lill, Emily Lill-Bentz, Cole Chamberlain and Gwyneth Schuler; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72714, with Pastor Jeff Reed officiating.
