Loy L. Sullivan

Loy L. Sullivan, 86, passed away at his home in Highfill, Ark., on Friday, Oct. 24, 2014. He was born and raised in Highfill. Loy began his career in forestry on the West Coast. He moved back to Highfill and started the Sullivan Lumber Company, as well as farming. Loy retired in 2000, and enjoyed fishing and his grandkids. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Highfill. In 1950, Loy married Sue Epperson. To this union three children were added. Loy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sue Sullivan; a daughter, Kathy Geneson of Ozark, Mo.; a son, Kenny Sullivan of Fayetteville; a daughter, Mary Jech and husband, Ron, of Gentry; nine grandchildren, Todd Colvin and wife, Shelia, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Chauncey Geneson and wife, Danielle, of Ozark, Mo., Shane Sullivan and Amber of Fayetteville, Ark., Drew Sullivan and wife, Sheannene, of Fort Hood, Texas, Ashley Sullivan of Fayetteville, Jeremiah Jech and wife, Krisha, of Gentry, Levi Jech and wife, Michelle, of Gentry, Caleb Jech of Highfill, and Jessica Jech and husband, Derek, of Springdale. Loy also had nine great-grandchildren and many, many neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Highfill, with Pastor Roger Robin officiating. Burial will follow at Highfill Cemetery.
