Kenneth Moore

Kenneth B. Moore passed away Oct. 23, 2014, in Fayetteville at the age of 92. He was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Hulbert, Okla., to Babe and Bessie Moore. He retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Okla., after 14 years. He was active in real estate for many years, including appraisal evaluation. Kenneth was a four-and-a-half year veteran of World War II as a bombardier (39 missions with the 3rd Air Force), staff sergeant. He was a awarded the Purple Heart, French Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal with Silver Star, American Defense Service Ribbon and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He attended High School at Westville, Okla. After serving in the Air Force, he graduated from OSU at Okmulgee, Okla. Survivors include his wife, Lorena of 55 years; two sons, Kenneth Jr. and Richard; one daughter, Patricia Plautz; stepson, Dr. Leon Greene; stepdaughter, Marilyn Cummings; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas; two brothers; and one sister. Kenneth and Lorena moved to Bella Vista in 1984 from Wagoner, Okla. He enjoyed working with his hands, and could use his skills as a plumber, electrician and builder, and could repair almost everything in the home. He enjoyed all sports and loved to play golf, being a past member of the GGG and the Lakers golf groups. He was a member of the Community Church, an honorary member of Nomad Shrine, 32nd Degree Mason, American Legion and a 50-plus member of Wagoner Lodge #98 and Tulsa Scottish Rite. No services will be held. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
