Lonnie Lynn McCleland

Lonnie Lynn McCleland, 66, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014. He was born on July 22, 1948, the son of Orby and Sylvia Keck McCleland in Fayetteville, Ark. Lonnie was a 1966 graduate of Fayetteville High School and attended Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla., and then moved on to Yankton College in Yankton, S.D., where he attended both schools on a baseball scholarship. After college, Lonnie returned to make his home in Fayetteville where he served as the maintenance foreman for University of Arkansas for over 20 years. Lonnie is survived by one sister, Donna Crane of St. Peters, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews from Houston, Texas, as well as St. Peters, Mo. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Phil Meisenheimer officiating. Burial will follow in Sons Chapel Cemetery.
