Michael Edwin Rauchen

Michael Edwin Rauchen, 57, a resident of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Sept. 10, 2014, at his home. He was born April 23, 1957, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Jerry Michael and Suzanne DeNomy Rauchen. The family moved to St. Louis, Mo., in 1958, where another son, James Rauchen, was born the same year. Michael Rauchen graduated from Webster Grover High School in 1975. He later graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1981 with a degree in accounting. Alton Box Board Company of Alton, Ill., hired Mike in 1981. Over the years, the company changed names and locations, with Michael serving as plant manager for 28 years, retiring in Atlanta in 2010. Michael then moved to Northwest Arkansas to be near family. Mike enjoyed motorcycle riding, bicycling (both on road and trail), lifting weights, and all things outdoors, including kayaking and shooting guns. Michael was a loving brother and devoted son. He enjoyed family get-togethers, eagerly participating in birthday parties, cookouts and holiday gatherings. Survivors include his mother, Suzanne Rauchen of Prairie Grove; a brother, Jim Rauchen and wife, Wendy, and two nephews, Lucas and Jacob Rauchen, all of Douglasville, Pa.; and three cousins, Ross Hinshaw of Springdale, Ark., Cathryn Hinshaw of Little Rock, Ark., and Dawn Hinshaw of Columbia, S.C. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, 10 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark.
