Marilyn Lois Conner

Marilyn Lois Conner, 72, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Ark. Marilyn was born on April 10, 1942, in Fresno, Calif., a daughter of John Walter Sykes and Mildred Lois (Bell) Sykes. She was a proud homemaker, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandbabies. She enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loyd Conner; and two brothers, John William Sykes and Ronald Ray Sykes. Marilyn is survived by her children, Rhonda Cooper and husband, Dan, Loyetta Woods and husband, Scott, and Steven Conner, all of Springdale, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Leonard Sykes and wife, Charlotte, of Springdale, Ark., Patti Pando and husband, Tony, of Kansas, Okla., Jerry Sykes of Springdale, Ark., and Jinny Dablemont and husband, Dennis, of Springdale, Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, Ark.
