Gary Don Berkshire

Gary Don Berkshire, who resided in Cave Springs, Ark., passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, in Rogers, Ark. He was born May 14, 1940, in Lavaca, Ark., to the late Wendell Berkshire and Mary Nell Berkshire. He was 74 years old. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Eubanks; and one great-grandchild. Gary was owner and operator of Berkshire Sales in Cave Springs, Ark. He was a 1958 graduate of Lavaca High School, a 1960 graduate of Fort Smith Junior College in Fort Smith, Ark., and a member of Lake View Baptist Church of Cave Springs. Gary left a legacy that cannot even be described. His love and selfless giving has been felt by so many. He loved Jesus with all his heart, mind and soul. We celebrate his home going. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Lake View Baptist Church in Cave Springs, Ark., officiated by the Rev. Johnny Harp and the Rev. Jack Bedford. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. at Eubanks Cemetery, near Cecil, Ark., under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Homes and Flower Shop in Charleston. He is survived by the love of his life, Janice (Newton) Berkshire; one daughter, Karen Blackburn and husband, Doug, of Winslow, Ark.; two sons, Craig Berkshire of Rogers, Ark., Chad and Denise Berkshire of Cave Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren, Amber Sims and husband, Mike, Samantha Romero and husband, Tony, Brittney Little and husband, Reid, Jared Berkshire, Justin Berkshire and wife, London; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Romero, Porter Sims and Adley Little. Also surviving are aunts, cousins, nieces, and many friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Danny Atkins, Matt Atkins, Jimmy Atkins, Tommy Atkins, Stan Thrift and Paul Thrift.
