Frances A. Henderson

Frances A. "Fran" Henderson, 75, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Parsons, Kan., died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, at Jamestown Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rogers. She was born July 20, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., to Francis Bernard and Lydia (Juergens) Fisher. As a young girl, she grew up and attended schools in St. Louis where she was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. In 1956, she and Max Hedgepath were married. In 1957, they moved to Wichita where they lived until moving to Parsons in 1969. They divorced in 1971. While living in Parsons, she attended Labette Community College. In 1972, she and Don Heady were married. They divorced in 1975. On Jan. 9, 1985, she and L.S. "Bud" Henderson Jr. DDS were married in Parsons. Through the years, she worked as a dental assistant in her husband's practice. Fran was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. She was also a member of the former Parsons Country Club and Habitat for Humanity International. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, dancing, many different genres of music, watching and coaching her children's sports, and bowling. From 1977-1981, she served as second vice president on the Parsons Women's Bowling Association Board. In 1997, she was honored by the Bowling Association as "Emeritus Member" for her outstanding contribution to their organization. The last year Fran bowled was in 2009. At that time, she bowled in numerous leagues, including the Tuesday Night Mixed League, Housewives League, Meteor League and the Shooting Stars League. Survivors include two sons, Mark Heady and his wife, Jennifer, of St. Louis, Mo., and Matthew Hedgepath and his wife, Renee, of Inman, S.C.; two daughters, Tina (Heady) Tice and her husband, Chris, Fayetteville, Ark., and April (Henderson) Stout and her husband, Edwin H. "Eddie" Stout II, Farmington, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Ethan and Grayson Heady, Jennifer Williams, Jessica "Mattie" Moore, Cole and Taylor Hedgepath, Morgan and Allison Peterson, and Xavier Stout; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Fisher, Texas, and Michael Fisher, St. Louis, Mo.; and one sister, Susan Brecke, Excelsior, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.S. Henderson Jr. on Dec. 3, 1999. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
